  When i first came here, this was by far the worst hospital i had ever been to. They were incredibly rude if you came via emergency after 6:00 pm, almost totally refused to treat you if they found out you smoked, which is totally unethical and a breach of the law, ejected my mum, who had been suffering from pneumonia, into one of the coldest winters in Gladstone's recent history, told me i was delusional when i put 9 down on the "out of ten, how would you rate your pain" test and lastly had a bad habit of not treating people if they had symptoms of a lesser illness, like say, the flu, but actually had something really serious, several people died because of this. And if they had a grudge against a certain person, once again, they refused to treat you. May i, therefore be the first to say how much they have improved in recent years, there are compassionate, skilled doctors and nurses there, and reception won't just let you sit and die if you interrupt their coffee break.

  My greatest appreciation for the team of doctors, nurses and other medical staff of the Gladstone Hospital for the highly professional service and care provided during the emergency treatment of my son, Ruan, on 31 July 2017 and subsequent stay in hospital for a few days afterwards, following an off-road motorcycle accident. Thanks to your professionalism, he had a 100% recovery. What a great team!
